And once again, kid favorites Cocomelon and Gabby’s Dollhouse continue to indoctrinate the world’s children.   Stay tuned to see how the Top 10 changes on a weekly basis, but for now…   Here’s the Top 10 as it currently stands today:   10. 5 Experimental Indian Films That Broke The Norm Of Conventional Filmmaking

The Indian film industry has often been called out for its lack of originality and rightfully so. After all, it’s not often that Indian cinema has gone off the beaten path. But the few times that filmmakers took the plunge into experimental storytelling, we witnessed gems likes these: 1. AK vs. AK Vikramaditya Motwane’s latest venture  AK vs. AK  is a black comedy thriller that treads the thin line between becoming a reality show and an out-and-out fictional thriller. Intriguing, interesting, and undoubtedly entertaining,  AK vs. AK  is as meta as it gets, completely challenging the notion of convetional filmmaking with every frame.   2. Cargo Though not many people stumbled upon the creative genius of Cargo, its story of a human world run by friendly demons nevertheless remains a rare gem in Bollywood’s tiny pool of sci-fi dramas. At times awry, at times unbelievably charming, Cargo was an unusual story, boosted by incredible performances.   3. Go Goa Gone B...

Too Much' Oral Sex Can Lead To Cancer,

Did you know that if you have too much oral sex, it can lead to cancer? No, we wish we were kidding but sadly we’re not. A study done by a team of researchers from the Johns Hopkins University found out that ‘too much’ oral sex can increase the chances of getting mouth and throat cancer.   The study shows the correlation between oral sex and human papillomavirus (HPV). More than 500 people took a behavioral survey which was based on their sexual activities. Researchers kept in mind key points like- person’s age, the age when they had sex for the first time, how many people have they had oral sex within a short span of time. The study also suggests that if a subject has had 10 oral sex partners then the person has 4.3 times higher chances of getting HPV-related cancer. Moreover, engaging in oral sex at a younger age and having multiple partners in a short span of time also increases the risk of contracting the same. Not just that, researchers in the study fou...

10 reasons why Clueless is a work of cinematic genius

When lists of the Greatest Films Ever are compiled, we tend to see the usual suspects rounded up: things like Citizen Kane, La Règle du Jeu, Tokyo Story and – as per my clever reference earlier in this sentence – Casablanca.   But those lists are always fatally flawed, because they invariably exclude one of the finest movies in history: Clueless.   I know, you’re all like, “Ugh, as if!” But it’s true. Clueless – which opened in Ireland 20 years ago today – is a work of cinematic genius. And here’s why: 1. It has the best collection of invented slang since Anthony Burgess wrote A Clockwork Orange. Cake boy, jeepin’, buggin’, Monet, Baldwin, way harsh, ensembly challenged…it’s like a whole new language. A whole new world, even. 2.    Oh, and “chin pubes”. Use that on the next sheep-like hipster you see sporting a daft Ned Kelly-sized beard. 3.    It retooled Jane Austen for a new audience. And really, as adaptations of Emma go, it pees all over that dreary costume drama with Gwy...

glimpse of Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli’s Mumbai home as they welcome their baby girl

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have added a new nursery for their child at their plush home and won’t flash their careers on the walls for their kids to see. Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli’s plush Mumbai apartment now has a new member – their baby girl. The couple reside at a posh apartment in a high-rise building in Worli which has the wide Mumbai skyline as the view from its sprawling balconies.Built on an area of approximate 7,000 square feet, their house is washed in white and highlights their preference for minimalism and simplicity. Besides several sunlit spots in the house, a well-occupied gym and a hint of greenery here and there, the house now also has a new addition – an animal themed nursery from their little one.

India pull off stunning win over Australia to seal series – as it happened

A truly remarkable end to a scarcely believable series. The record books will show India winning by three wickets in Brisbane and retaining the Border-Gavaskar Trophy courtesy of a 2-1 series verdict, but the bare facts tell none of the story. This was a win for the ages by India, one that will be trumpeted on the subcontinent as possibly their greatest in Test history. At no stage did they have anything going for them. Australia had not lost at the Gabba since 1988. India were beset by injuries. No team had scored anything like 329 to win a Test match in Brisbane. India didn’t even have to win, a draw being enough for the visitors to retain series honours as the current holders of the trophy. But India batted to a plan on the final day of the final Test, getting home with three overs to spare to seal a triumph that will live long in the memory. India have showed immense courage and character this series, especially after being skittled for an all-time low of 36 in Adelaide, but today ...

What is herd immunity?

What Is Herd Immunity? With the rising number of cases of COVID-19 around the world, health officials continue to work to find the best way to protect the public from the disease. You may have heard health officials mention herd immunity as a possible way to contain the spread of COVID-19.Here’s what you need to know about herd immunity and how it may help slow the spread of the new coronavirus. Herd Immunity Herd immunity, or community immunity, is when a large part of the population of an area is immune to a specific disease. If enough people are resistant to the cause of a disease, such as a virus or bacteria, it has nowhere to go. While not every single individual may be immune, the group as a whole has protection. This is because there are fewer high-risk people overall. The infection rates drop, and the disease peters out. Herd immunity protects at-risk populations. These include babies and those whose immune systems are weak and can’t get resistance on their own. How Do You Ac...
