Chehre: The wait for Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer gets longer; release postponed

The cases of Coronavirus in the country have been increasing significantly, especially in the state of Maharashtra. It has led to a lot of apprehension in the trade since the state consists of the crucial markets of Mumbai and Pune. Meanwhile, the state government declared a night curfew in Maharashtra from Sunday, March 28.

The government has made it clear that malls have to be shut between 8:00 pm and 7:00 am. With most multiplexes located inside malls, it means that the last show of a film will be held during evening. And this new situation will effect the release of the films as well. As a result of the new restrictions and surge in cases, the makers of Chehre have finally postponed the release of their film.

In a press note they have announced, “Due to the rising cases of Covid19 and new guidelines for cinemas we are unable to release our film Chehre on 9th April and have decided to postpone on further notice.” They have also mentioned that when things will be brighter and condition will be under control then Chehre will see a theatrical release. The film has got good buzz and the trailer looks promising. The makers have made sure that it is important that it arrives at the correct time so that it can do well at the box office.

Emraan Hashmi posted, “The well-being of our very own audience is of utmost importance to us. We are extremely humbled by the love and support that we have received this far. See you in the cinemas soon. Until then, stay safe!”

Chehre has been directed by Rumi Jafry and it has been produced by Anand Pandit. The film also stars Annu Kapoor, Krystle D’Souza, Rhea Chakraborty, Siddhanth Kapoor and Raghubir Yadav.
