Our world is full of exceptions, extraordinary stuff, adventure, thrill, and whatnot. Humans are also a part of this earth, and nowhere on earth is it possible that we all are the same. Every single being has a unique nature.
Some are calm, pleasant, and some are jovial, some are depressed, some are quirky, while some are very dangerous. One of the many dangerous people is a serial killer. serial killer genes, whack the serial killer, alaska serial killer, seattle serial killer these are just a few names, who horrified with their name to the general public once.
The Psychology Behind Serial Killers
A serial killer is a psych person who tortures people and murders them. They murder people periodically. Serial killing is a psychological disorder that often involves sexual abuse. The reason for serial killing varies with different serial killers. For some serial killers, it may be because of anger, while for some, it may be fun, thrill as well pleasure-seeking. Psychopathic behaviour is a common trait among all serial killers.
One of the famous serial killers who had made his appearance probably in every newspaper is Ali Asghar Borujerdi, who is worth mentioning here.
Who is Ali Asghar Borujerdi?
Ali Asghar, better known as Asghar, the Murderer, was the first 20th-century Iranian serial killer and rapist. Asghar was born in 1893 in Borujerd, Western Iran. He had two brothers Reza and Taghi, and one sister.
How Did Ali Asghar Get His Serial Killer Genes?
He grew up in a family with a criminal history, which consisted of theft, murder, and defamation. Zufall, his grandfather, was a bandit who used to rob caravans in Borujerd, Malayer, and Arak. Sometimes even murdering the owners of the caravan itself.
Ali Mirza, Asghar’s father, was also a bandit who took the lives of more than 40 civilians with his bare hands. His acts led him to shift to Baghdad with his family. However, Mirza was killed on the way to Mashhad by the Persian Cossack Brigade while his wife and children continued their journey to Baghdad. Asghar was told by her mother that his father was a soldier who was killed in military conscription. The family thereafter remained in Baghdad.

When he moved to Iraq with his family, he started assaulting, raping, and later even killing teenage boys in Baghdad at the age of 14. In Iraq, Asghar befriended other children and teenagers by selling snacks to them. He promised them treats, but instead, he molested and sexually assaulted them. During this time, at the age of 14, he was arrested and prosecuted for sexually assaulting children and was imprisoned.
However, considering his young age, he wasn’t considered a major risk and was released with the consent of his victim’s parents. He returned to selling snacks. After it was found that he had abused 5 children in Baghdad, he was arrested once again and sentenced to 9 years in prison.
Finally, he was released from prison at the age of 27 with an order to stay away from any activity capable of landing him with the police as well as the court. This didn’t stop him from killing 25 children and adolescents in Iraq, and he quickly fled and settled in Iran after confessing to the last murder.

Changes nation but not his action!
On returning to Iran, Asghar didn’t go back to his hometown Borujerd. Instead, he moved and settled in Raza Khan Caravanserai in Tehran. Over there, he took on athletics and got busy in it. This way, he had even more contact with adolescents and children. He particularly targeted teenagers who came looking for work.
During his time here, he killed 8 people and then dumped their bodies in the southern part of the city. When the mutilated bodies were discovered, it spread a reign of terror in the whole of Iran.

In January 1933, a teenager lost in Qaleh Kharabeh Village found a boy’s corpse and rushed to report it to the news in Najafabad, which was nearby. Agents from the office of Provincial Affairs found out that there were two more bodies in addition to the one discovered by the teenager. It was found that both were aged under 12 and were killed in the past couple of weeks.
In a span of fewer than 2 months, on February 23, a young man’s skull was discovered at the Laleh Park with the body missing. After five days, a headless corpse was found at the Aminabad District of Dolatabad.
Investigation time
Considering the increase in the barbaric incidents occurring all around the city, Sardar Timur Khan, the most knowledgeable inspector in the area, was put in charge of the investigation of the serial killings.
On March 10, 1933, the police met a middle-aged man in the desert selling stacks of porterage close to Aminabad Qanats. The police officers investigated and questioned him about his background and employment history. The man said that he was selling Okra. Initially, they didn’t doubt the man but closely inspecting him further found bloody clothes and a bloody knife. The man claimed that the clothes were bought by him from a nearby market and that the knife was merely a tool.
However, the officials weren’t convinced, and they arrested the man and took him to the commissioner of Tehran. The official further investigated by visiting Asghar’s residence in Raza Khan Caravanserai, and upon questioning the neighbors, they discovered that Asghar introduced the victim as his brother the previous night. The police officers identified the clothes as that of the same teenager.
After continued interrogation, Asghar confessed that the clothes were of the teenager named Ali, whom Asghar had employed to work with him. After the boy tried to run away, Asghar found him and raped him before killing him.
The End has begun
His trial began in June 1934. He was charged with more than a dozen rapes and murders of children and adolescents. The court sentenced him to 9 years in prison, after which he was to be executed.
This verdict was upheld by Iran’s Supreme Court. On being asked the reason for these heinous crimes, Asghar said- “These are future parents; they are unproductive and beautiful. They steal when they grow a beard. I have a feud with them. These are the enemies of the country. Because of that, I have killed them. I was so excited when I was outside of my country, as I have killed a lot of them. That’s why I came here, seeing they were here, and killing them.”
The serial killer was killed
On July 6, 1934, Asghar was executed in the morning at Toopkhaneh in front of the national justice system of the country. Initially, Asghar found the entire execution to be humorous; however, upon seeing the ropes, he grew fearful and offered two sheep in return for his release. He was executed right there, and this is how the terror came to an end.
Parting Thought
The execution of Ali Asghar is nothing compared to his sinful deeds. He should not be called a wild creature, on what he did; even wilds are not brutal like Ashar, the serial killer, was. He should not even be wished for hell because he doesn’t deserve it.
Still, there are people in the world like him who support their action by calling serial killers mentally ill. They may claim it to be because of the serial killer genes. These people are a threat to humanity. There is a famous saying: “Serial killers are not born as such, and they are made one such.” However, this may be true in some instances, but definitely, it doesn’t justify their sins.
