At forty-six, CM Punk is aware that his career as an in-ring competitor is coming to an end. It's not, however, as soon as his critics may believe. Even at this age, he is swift and strong, and Punk has a lot of goals he wants to achieve before hanging up his boots.
This was Punk's sole opening statement for Monday Night RAW's broadcast last night. First, a very upset and depressed punk addressed his opponents persuasively, responding to their criticism of McIntyre's actions. He claimed that when people asked him when he would retire, he would often respond in a way that would startle them.
"People have occasionally asked me, 'How many matches do I have left in these old bones?' throughout my career. The response will either make you extremely happy or extremely disappointed, depending on how you feel about me. Punk stated on RAW, "Because the answer is, way more than you think."
Punk began his wrestling career in 1997 and has almost 27 years of experience in the business. It isn't like WWE elevated him to stardom. When Punk won the ROH Championship in 2005, he was already a well-known celebrity.
He was simply exposed to a global audience by WWE, and he was able to establish himself there really quickly as well. Recall the Survivor Series 2006, when Triple H and Shawn Michaels were left with a bad taste in their mouths by the CM Punk chants that echoed throughout the arena.
For CM Punk, the megastar, that was just the beginning. Within a few years of making his WWE debut, Punk went on to become one of the greatest stars in the organization. And that happened when John Cena was the WWE's face. After departing WWE in a bitter manner in 2014, Punk didn't look back for almost ten years. It wasn't until the organization contacted him again in 2023 that Punk made the decision to rejoin them.
In the WWE today, punk's storyline involving Drew McIntyre is a major issue. Due to a real-life feud between them, the two haven't liked each other at all.
Thus, The Straight Edge Superstar confronted Drew McIntyre head-on. Punk threatened to make McIntyre bleed during Hell in a Cell, speaking in a harsh tone. "I swear, Drew McIntyre, I'm going to murder you. He said, "I'm going to make you bleed, and I'm ready to die, so you're going to have to kill me."

On October 5, 2024, at Bad Blood, the two may engage in their third and final combat against one another. The match will take place in a Hell in a Cell setup instead of a traditional one. Watch to see who prevails.
